Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

                             사도행전 28장21절 부터 시작합니다.

 

21.They replied, "We have not received any letters from Judea

concerning you, and none of the brothers who have come  from there

has reported or said anything bad about you.

 

그들이 바울에게 말하였다. "우리는 아직 유대로부터 당신에 관한 편 지를 받은

일도 없고, 동포들 가운데서 아무도, 여기에 와서 당신에 대하여 나쁘게 말하거나

소문난 일이 없습니다.

 

22.But we want to hear what your views are, for we know that people

everywhere are talking against this sect.“

우리는 당신에게서 당신의 생각을 들어보고 싶습니다. 이 종파에 대하여 우리가

아는 것은, 어디서나 이 종파를 반대하는 소리가 높다는것입니다.

 

해설: 이 종파는 ?

this sect 는 초기 기독교를 지칭하며, 당시 유대교 내에서 이단으로 여겨졌던 예수 그리스도를

믿는 집단을 의미한다. 그곳의 유대인들은 바울의 가르침에 대해 직접 들은바는 없지만, 그가 속한

종파’(기독교)에 대해 부정적인 평판이 퍼져 있다는 것을 알고 있었다. 따라서 그들은 바울의 입을 통해

직접 그의 신앙과 가르침을 듣고 판단하고자 했던 것이다. 

 

 

23.They arranged to meet Paul on a certain day, and came in even larger

numbers to the place where he was staying.From morning till evening he

explained and declared to them  the kingdom of God and tried to convince

them about Jesus from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets.

 

그들은 바울과 만나기로 약속한 날에 더 많은 사람들이 바울이 머물 고 있는 곳으로

왔다. 바울은 아침부터 저녁까지 그들에게 하나님의나라를 설명하고, 모세의 율법과

예언자들의 글을 통해 예수에 대해 설득하려고 했다.

바울은 구약 성경, 특히 모세의 율법과 예언자들(구약의 예언서)에서 예수님에 관한 예언과 가르침을

찾아내어 설명하려 했던 것을 말함.

 

24.Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe.

더러는 그의 말을 받아들였으나, 더러는 믿지 않았다.

 

25.they disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul had

made this final statement: "The Holy Spirit spoke  the truth to your

forefathers when he said through Isaiah the  prophet:
