"Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who

 warrior: 용사, 전사

인내하는 사람은 전사보다 낫고, 분노를 다스리는 사람은 성을 점령하는 자보다 낫다.(잠16:32)

 

                                      英語聖經을 쉽게 解釋, 解說 합니다. 

                              사도행전 13장6절 부터 시작 합니다. 

6.They traveled through the whole island until they came to  Paphos. There they

met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus,

Jewish sorcerer:

유대무당,주술사

Sorcerer( 주술사, 마술사): 마법을 사용하여 초자연적인 능력을 발휘하는 마법사를 의미하며 주문을

                                         외우거나 강력한 마법을 부리는데 비슷한 단어로 wizard(위자드), mage

                                         (메이지) 등이 있다.

False prophet( 거짖 예언자): 신의 계시를 받았다고 주장하지만 실제로는 거짓된 가르침을 퍼뜨리는

                                             사람을 가리킨다. 

그들은 파포스에 오기 전까지 온 섬을 돌아다녔다. 그 곳에서 그들은유대인 주술사와

거짓 예언자 바르 예수라는 사람을 만났다,

 

주술사(呪術師)는 다음과 같은 용어로도 쓰인다

Shaman:  주로 원시적이거나 토속적인 신앙에서 신과 교류하는 역할을 하는 주술사

Sorcerer: 마법과 주술을 사용하는 남성 마법사 (반면에 여성은 Sorceress)

Witch: 전통적으로 마법을 사용하는 여성 주술사

            (반면에 남성은 Warlock이라는 표현을 사용하기도 함)

Mage: 판타지 세계에서 마법을 사용하는 사람을 지칭하는 단어

Wizard : 전통적인 마법사, 강력한 마법을 사용하는 존재

Necromancer: 죽은 자를 부리는 주술사, 강령술을 사용하는 마법사

                         (일부 한국의 무당들이 이 부류에 속함)

 

7.who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus.The proconsul, an

intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul  because he wanted to hear the

word of God.

똑똑한 사람, 지혜있는사람.

 

그는 총통의 수행원인 세르지우스 파울루스였다. 지혜가 있었던 총통은 하나님의 말씀을

듣고 싶어서  바나바스와 사울을 불렀다.

 

8.But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means)opposed them and

tried to turn the proconsul from the faith.

 

그러나 주술사 엘리마스(그의 이름이 바로 그것을 의미)는 그들(바나 바스와 바울)을

반대 했으며 총통의 신앙을 믿지 못하게 하였다.

 

9.Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight

at Elymas and said,

filled with the Holy Spirit:

성령으로 가득차서

 

그 때에 바울이라고도 불렸던 사울이 성령으로 가득차 엘리마스를 똑바로 바라보며 말

하였다,

 

10.You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are

full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right

ways of the Lord?

모든 정의로은것의 敵(적)

full of all kinds of deceit and trickery:

온갖 속임수와 기만으로 가득찬

you never stop perverting the right ways:

너는 올바른길을 왜곡하는 것을 멈추지 않는다.

 

너는 악마의 자식이며, 모든 옳은것의 적이다. 너희는 온갖거짖(사기)와 속임수로 가득

차 있다. 너는 결코 주님의 바른 길을 거스르는것을 멈추지 않을 것이냐?

 

A child of the devil is a phrase used to describe someone who is acting in a very

evil or wicked manner.

(악마의 자식 은 매우 사악하거나 사악한 방식으로 행동하는 사람을 묘사하는 데 사용되는

구절이다)
