오늘은 그 13번째로서 요한복음 2장 6절부터 시작 함니다.

 

6) Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews

    for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to  thirty gallons.

    Nearby: 그 근처에

    stone water jars:

    돌 항아리

    used by the Jews:

    유태인 에게 쓰여 지는(유대인 들이 쓰는)

     ceremonial washing:

     행사에 쓸 용기를 세척 하는것 (성결 예 식에 쓰임)

     1gallon : 3.8 liter
     each holding from twenty to thirty gallons:

     20-30 gallon 들이

     20 gallon은 pet병(colar) 병 35개 불량임.

     (거기 유대인의 결례를 따라 2-30 갤런 들이 돌항아리 여섯이

     놓였는 지라)

 

7) Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so

     they filled them to the brim.

     the servants:

     종, 일하는 자, 하인들

     the servant of the Lord:

     종교 여호와의 종

     the servant of God:

     종교 하나님의 종

     "Fill the jars with water:

     항아리들 물을 가득 채워라

     to the brim:

     항아리의 아귀 부분까지

     (예수께서 저희에게 이르시되 항아리에 물을 채우라 하신즉 아귀 까지 채우니)

 

8) Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the

    master of the banquet." They did so,

    Then he told them:

    그리고 그들에게 말했다.

    draw: 동사, 부드럽게 끌어 당기다, 뽑아 내다

    Now draw some out:

    물을 퍼 낼 때, 좀 퍼다가

     take it to the master of the banquet:

     떠다가 연회장(연회 책임자)에게 주어라.

     (이제는 떠서 연회장에게 갖다 주라 하여 갖다 주었다)

 

9) and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had

  been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come

  from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.

  Then he called the bridegroom aside

   the water that had been turned into wine:

   wine으로 변한 물

   turn ~ into something ~에서 ~이 되다,~으로 변하다

   Our dream holiday turned into a nightmare.

   우리가 꿈꾸던 휴가가 악몽으로 변했다.

   be turned into a restaurant: 식당으로 바뀌다

   be turned into huge mountains of trash:

  거대한 쓰레기 산으로 변하다

   He did not realize=he did not know

   where it had come from: 어디서 났는지

   though the servants who had drawn the water knew:

  물을 떠온 하인들은 이 사실을 알고 있었고

  Then he called the bridegroom aside:

  그는 신랑을 옆으로 불렀다.

   bride: 신부 bridegroom: 신랑(또는 groom)

   banquet room: 연회장

   banquet lamp: 연회용 램프 banquet hall: 연회실.

  (연회장은 물로 된 포도주를 맛보고 어디서 났는지 알지 못하되

  물을떠온 하인들은 알았으며 연회장은 신랑을 옆에 불렀다)

 

10) and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and

   then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much

   to drink; but you have saved the best till now."

   the choice wine: 특급 와인

   the cheaper wine: 싸구려 와인

   brings out the choice wine: 최상급의 와인을 내 놓는다.

   then the cheaper wine after:

  다움에 싸구려 와인을 내 놓는데

   the guests have had too much to drink:

   손님이 많이 마셔 흠뻑 취 했을 때

   (말하되 사람마다 먼저 좋은 포도주를 내고 취한 후에 질이 낮

   은 것을 내거늘 그대는 지금까지 좋은 포도주를 두었구나)
