"A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions."

delights: 기쁨, 즐거음, 환희

airing: 방송, 공표, 공개

        미련한 자는 명철을 기뻐하지 아니하고 자기의 의사를 드러내기만 기뻐하느니라(잠18:2).

명철( understanding): 이해하다, 깨닫다. 

                                  하나님의 뜻을 이해하고 분별하여 삶에 지혜롭게 적용하는 능력.

 

                               英語聖經을 쉽게 解釋, 解說 합니다. 

                              사도행전 13장46절 부터 시작 합니다. 

 

46.Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: "We had to speak the word

of God to you first. Since you reject  it and do not consider yourselves worthy of

eternal life,we now turn to the Gentiles.

boldly:

대담하게, 뻔뻔 스럽게

daring:대담무쌍, 앞뒤 가리지않는 brave:훌륭한, 화려한; 멋진 audacious:넉살좋은, 철면피의, 무례한

Boldly: She boldly spoke her mind during the discussion.

            ( 그녀는 토론 중에 당당하게 자신의 의견을 말했다).

Daring: She made a daring move to start her own business.

             ( 그녀는 대담하게 자신의 사업을 시작했다)

Brave: The brave firefighter rescued the child from the fire.

            ( 그 용감한 소방관이 아이를 불길 속에서 구했다)

Audacious: His audacious plan surprised everyone in the meeting.

                    ( 그의 뻔뻔스런 계획은 회의에서 모두를 놀라게 했다)

worthy of eternal life:

이방인

 

그러나 바울과 바나바는 다음과 같이 담대하게 말하였다. '하나님의말씀을 먼저 여러분

에게 전해야 마땅합니다. 그렇지만 여러분이 그 말씀을 거절하고 여러분 스스로 영원한

생명을 얻는것은 가치가 없다고판단하기 때문에 이제는 이방인들 에게 이말씀을 전하려

합니다.

 

47.For this is what the Lord has commanded us: " 'I have made you a light for

the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.'“

 

이는 주께서 우리에게 명령하신 것이며  즉, 내가 너를 이방인들의 빛으로 삼아,네가 땅

끝까지 구원을 전하게 하리라. 하시고 

 

48.When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the

Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

 

그 말을 듣고 이방인들은 기뻐하며 주의 말씀을 찬양하였고 영원한 생명을 얻도록

선택된 사람들이 됨을 모두가 믿게 되었다. 

 

49.The word of the Lord spread through the whole region.

 

그리하여 주님의 말씀은 그 지방 전체에 퍼져 나갔다.

 

50.But the Jews incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading

men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and

expelled them from their region.

incite:

자극,격려하다, 부추기다, 선동하다

ex: incite a person to heroic deeds:

     용기 있는 행위를 하도록 격려하다

high standing:

고위신분

stirred up:

선동하다

expelled:

쫓아내다, 물리치다, 구축하다

Ex: expel an invader from a country:

     침입자를 국외로 내쫓다.

 

그러나 유대인들은 경건한 귀부인들과 그 도시의 유지들을 선동하여 바울과 바나바

를 괴롭히고 그 지방에서 내쫓았다.

 

51.So they shook the dust from their feet in protest against them and went to

Iconium.

they shook the dust:

먼지를 털어 버렸다

 

바울과 바나바는 그들을 향해 발의 먼지를 떨어 버리고 이고니온 으로 갔으며

 

해설:

먼지를 털어내는 행위는 복음을 받아들이지 않는 사람들에게 더 이상 책임을 지지

않고, 그들의 불신앙에 대한 심판이 그들 스스로에게 돌아가게 한다는 의미를 담고

있다. 

 

52.And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy  Spirit.

제자들은 기쁨과 성령으로 충만하였다
